This section of the Eastern Wainwrights involves detailed navigation on the early lower hills, with some steep climbs, but followed by runnable routes on long ridges.

As far as Beda Head, you have a choice of many routes in this popular area. After the summit of Beda Fell, if the bracken is high, it may be easier not to take the suggested direct route but to continue along the ridge and then slope down East from Bedafell Knott.
There is then the question of The Nab. There is a clear path going directly up The Nab from Dale Head, but you would have to pass a Private sign to get to it from the road. The route shown in the map avoids the private land. There are good paths across Bannerdale Beck, but after that you are off piste, and it is a bit of a slog in the final part.
After The Nab there's a stiff climb to Rest Dodd but you have now cracked it. There is an out-and-back section to Mardale Ill Bell but otherwise the rest of the route is a joy for the runner along easy paths.
